A Bullet Camera is a Good Option for your Apartment Security

Homeowners have many reasons for installing surveillance cameras in their houses or apartment units. They are great additions to an existing house or apartment alarm system that monitors areas inside and outside the home. Security cameras can either be wireless or wired.
Wireless surveillance cameras are simple and easy to install. They can be hidden and/or occasionally relocated (see related article on home security installation). Wired security cameras, on the other hand, may involve the services of a professional. Such permanent set-up system is normally installed during the construction of the house or apartment so that the unpleasant sight of numerous wirings and connections are covered. Wired security camera utilizes the electrical power connections of the house, hence, interferences affecting wireless models are not experienced by such models.
A bullet camera is the most common type of wireless installation. As the name suggests, it is small in size and the design is cylindrical like a pistol bullet. It is sometimes called a lipstick camera on account of its shape. The usual size is three to four inches in length, which makes them easier to hide. It is very difficult to notice yet it is very versatile. It is very cost effective and can be equipped with infrared capability to facilitate recording of activities at night or in low light conditions (see related article on infrared CCTV systems). A bullet camera can have dual-band lens for day and night functioning (sharp color images during the day and an impressive black and white images during the night).
Lipstick style camera can be used for both indoor and outdoor applications. Because of the small size it can be the perfect choice for discreet or covert surveillance work because it does not require an elaborate housing like the box style cameras.
As part of home or apartment security systems, a bullet camera can be conspicuously installed to observe a nanny as she takes care of the baby, particularly when the parents are absent. Parents can keep an eye on their children without them knowing it. Outside the dwelling unit, the area can be watched unassumingly, like supervising laborers or the hired maintenance man.
As an outdoor surveillance security, a bullet camera must be durable and weather-proof. It can have external zoom and focus controls and can detect vandalism or tampering. It can also register an unauthorized redirection of areas being monitored. And considering the size of such camera, it should be mounted in a very safe place to avoid destruction or sabotage.
A bullet security camera is indeed a great outdoor surveillance system for home or commercial establishments.
